Petite Women And Plus Size Clothes Share A Fashion Trend

Women who have to wear plus size clothes or, even petite women, often think that they cannot follow a particular fashion trend let alone many of the latest fashion trends.

In the world of fashion and fashion trends, there are many people who believe that you have to have the perfect ‘model’ figure. But, how many of us are truly happy with our figures anyway? If we are totally honest with ourselves, we would probably admit that there is more than one thing we would like to change about our bodies, given the chance.

For the petite women, it could be as simple as putting on more weight because they can sometimes think that they are too small and thin. Then there is the total opposite of that, the women who wear the plus size clothes, trying hard to eat less to lose weight. Also, there are women who are not happy with their cleavage, are they too flat chested or are they too big up front? The upper arms on ladies of a certain age can be a problem for many too. The looseness and wrinkling of the skin! The tummy, the hips, the thighs, the list could go on.

Plastic surgery is often thought of as one way to get the figure that they want. But, for one thing, how many can afford it and also, how many actually want to put themselves through the pain and uncertainty of such a drastic procedure?

Changing the way that we look is a much better alternative to changing the shape of our bodies. This is where the beauty of fashion comes in.

What does it matter if we do not have the ‘perfect’ model figure when there are so many garments designed to take this into account. You will always find at least one particular fashion trend which can be suit your shape or size.

Perhaps you are classified a ‘petite women’, which generally means that you are small boned and shorter than average but nevertheless neatly proportioned. The length of a garments are normally considered when manufactured specifically for this size. You no longer have to have trousers turned up to the correct length. No longer do you have to take up every skirt or dress either. Retailers even have a specific allocated area within their store for the petite women range as the majority of clothing companies cater for this size when following the fashion trends,

Fashion for women who wear plus size clothes has changed dramatically over the last twenty or so years. No longer do you have to wear the shapeless outfits, which emphasized your size, and which were designed for comfort only. Now you can find beautiful, sexy clothing and accessories which can make you feel proud to wear.

These are just two women sizes, but no matter what your size, wearing the latest fashion trends which you like, can take the eye away from the shape of your body and onto the whole look. You too can look and feel like a model. So whether you are a petite woman or a woman who wears plus size clothes, the fashion trend, which you want to wear, are for everyone, regardless of their shape or size.

Not forgetting, if you are a lady who wears plus size clothes or are one of the millions of petite women who enjoy the idea of wearing the fashion trend of the moment, you can always start your own clothing business line and even from the comfort of your own home.

Petite Clothing

If you are a petite woman it can sometimes be extremely difficult to purchase clothing that suits your frame, shape and height. So many stores accommodate for ‘leggy’ people. If you are 5’10 or above you will obviously not have a problem at all but for some sorter folk there is a huge issue. When falling in love with a pair of trouser you don’t want to be having to turn them up before you can wear them. Furthermore you cannot get a true indication of the fit and style of the product when they are so long! For some petite people who also have a tiny frame there is the option of children’s or teenagers clothing but that isn’t what you would choose. You would not find something classic and sophisticated by shopping in the children’s section.

Over the last couple of years companies have started to take notice of this dilemma and have introduced purely petite shops dedicated to small woman. Not only will the clothing accommodate your shape and be designed to flatter a small person but you will not have to turn up the trousers or sleeves!

Although petite clothing ranges seem to be more expensive than other clothing it’s worth the extra money for the fit of the clothing. The material tends to be of better quality as well.

By looking for voucher codes and cash back options online you will save money on your petite clothing. This will help as it can be quite expensive to buy petite clothing. I would advise signing up to email campaigns this will enable you to know as soon as there is a sale meaning you can save further money. I would also recommend purchasing all your clothes from one site as often companies will give free delivery on orders over a certain amount.

A Style Consultant Offers Advice on How to Dress If You Have a Petite Figure

As a style consultant, I know that scale is a combination of height and bone structure and may be petite, average or large. Your body scale will determine the size of patterns, the weight of fabrics and how much texture you can wear, as well as the size of your accessories. Petite figures are generally under 1.6m with small facial features, fine fingers and often have a shoe size under 37.

In dressing a petite figure your three main aims are firstly to wear clothes that don’t swamp you, secondly to never to wear anything that cuts your body in half and thirdly to always try to draw attention away from your lower body and towards your face.

Neat fitting clothes with clean and uncluttered lines are ideal and a monochromatic head to toe look is excellent for creating the illusion of height. Everything you wear, from clothes to accessories like belts and handbags must be in proportion to your small frame or you will look overpowered. Accessories like scarves and earrings are a brilliant way to draw attention to your face and always having a neat hairstyle and fresh make-up will also draw the eye upwards.

Always look to buy fine to medium-weight fabrics with little texture since this can create too much bulk, particularly if you are layering. Go for shorter length fitted jackets and high-waisted trousers – again to lengthen the leg.  Vertical stripes help to give a longer line and a taller appearance.  Necklines shaped in a V are especially flattering on petites because the V-shape draws the eye up and gives the illusion of a longer neck.   The wrap dress is a good way to wear a V-neck.

With regard to shoes, it is a misconception that shorter people need to wear very high heels. Any heel over three inches will make a petite woman look like someone who is trying to be taller. Medium height heels work best since they are in better proportion to your frame as well as being more comfortable. Generally your shoes and hosiery should be a similar colour. If, for example, you are wearing a blue suit you should pair this with a nude shade of tights and fairly neutral shoes to create a long-legged illusion.  Another way to make your legs look longer is, within reason, to show as much leg as possible. Straight skirts and dresses that end at your knee or slightly above are the most flattering lengths for a petite frame.

Wherever possible, smaller framed people should avoid any large accessories and prints as well as oversized t-shirts, frills and horizontal stripes, all of which will create the wrong effect. Although colour blocking is good, if you wish to wear two colours try to ensure that the brighter colour is used on the top one third of your frame otherwise you will not look correctly balanced.

What Clothes Suit My Body Shape?

You may have heard many people asking, what clothes suit my body shape? This is a question that has been asked by lots of women and the answer is simple. It totally depends on what clothes your body can carry. You must feel good in the clothes you wear; otherwise there is no point in wearing them.

You must also understand your body type; this is would enable you to choose clothes that make your figure prominent. Apart from this, the occasion is also important. Your clothing must be according to the function; whether you are going to wear casual or formal clothing etc. But perhaps, the most important consideration has to be your body type and size. There can be many variations, whether you are tall, petite or a plus size woman; your size should certainly be the first step towards determining the clothes you should wear.

If you are a petite; which certainly doesn’t mean slender but women who are under height of 5’4”, then your clothing proportions should be different. For clothing made for petites, it is imperative that the best fit clothes are purchased. You must use less clothing on the torso area to achieve the best fit. As far as colors are concerned, you must wear one color as this would make you look taller. Always buy or get custom made clothes, so that the correct fit is attained. Also, you must wear heals so that it gives the clothes the flowing look you want.

For plus size women, or as some would call them as a full figured women, there are quite a few options to consider. First thing to consider is the size; clothing should be fit as you certainly wouldn’t want to look bulgy in loose clothing. Also, you should not wear tight clothes if you have a fuller figure as this would make you look big and certainly not glamorous. What you should do is to create a balance; your top should be flowing and your bottom should be a fit with a jeans. Straight leg jeans would be perfect fit for plus size women.

Finally, women, who are slender, can carry a lot of clothes, but only if they have the curves. If you are just skinny without any curves then you will have problems in finding clothes that would fit well. So, if you are slender without curves, then you must look for slightly loose fit clothing with bright colors as that would hide your bust and chest areas, because they might be too skinny. You can wear skinny jeans without any problems but don’t try to wear a tight top with it as this would make you look like a small tom boy. Try to wear something that gathers easily around the waist area. This will enhance your waistline to give it a curvier look.

Lastly, you should not be afraid to experiment; no matter whatever body type you have, you should be able to carry the clothes and should feel natural in them.

Womens Suits – What to Choose?

Womens suits are probably the easiest and smartest style of work wear available but they can also be worn for the evening or occasion wear. A suit usually describes a tailored jacket which is worn with a matching skirt, dress or trousers. They can worn in a variety of colours but black, brown, grey and navy women’s suits are the most popular for work wear as they are classic and versatile colours that go with a variety of different coloured blouses or tops.

Throughout history the fashion for womens suits has changed from the classic tweed suit designed by Coco Chanel in the fifties to the power suits of the eighties and nineties. A suit is probably one of the most flattering alternatives for women as long as they choose the right style. The tailoring skims over any lumps or bumps creating a smooth silhouette.

Suits are often mix and match so you can buy a jacket and your choice of different styles of skirt or trousers. For work wear it is often a good idea to buy an extra pair of trousers or a skirt as they will need washing more often and so wear out quicker. The skirt or trousers can also be worn with knitwear or cardigans for a slightly more casual look. Occasion suits usually have more elaborate or patterned jackets which are usually worn with skirts in bright or pastel colours.

There are a variety of different styles of tailored jacket that can be worn with a suit including collared and collarless, double and single breasted, long, medium or cropped styles and those with belts or other details. A collarless jacket with a round neck looks best on ladies with a smaller bust. Those with a bigger bust tend to look better in jackets with a V neck and collar. A collar is also a great way to disguise and draw attention away from the neck and up towards the face. Double breasted jackets look best on taller ladies whilst shorter or petite ladies are much more suited to single breasted. The length and fit of the jacket is really important. Different lengths and fits will suit different body shapes and it is well worth trying out a variety of styles to see which looks best.

Trousers suits are a modern and practical choice for work. The boot cut or straight cut trouser being the most popular choice for most body shapes as it is so flattering. These styles are particularly effective at balancing out wider hips. For taller and more slender ladies the tapered or peg leg style of trousers is also very on trend.

Women’s skirt suits usually consist of a jacket with either an a line skirt or a straight skirt. A straight skirt looks smart and business like and suits a variety of body types. An a line skirt works particularly well for those with larger hips and thighs.

A shift dress is often worn with a tailored jacket for a business or occasion suit. This is a really smart and streamlined look and is especially flattering for petite ladies who may find a separate coloured blouse worn with a skirt or trousers cuts their bodies in two and makes them appear shorter.

If you cannot find a suit with a jacket and skirt or trousers to fit and compliment your body shape, you could always try buying the skirt or trousers and jacket separately as long as you choose a neutral colour like black or navy that is easy to match.
